Shih Tzu Tries To Carry Her Favorite Toy To Bed, But It Goes Horribly Wrong

Internet users have been left in stitches by a Shih Tzu who was so determined to carry her favorite toy into bed with her, but after miscalculating the size of her jump, it all went horribly wrong.

Despite her small size, getting onto the bed isn't usually a problem for little Pearl, and of course, she couldn't possibly go to sleep without her favorite stuffed animal alongside her. Unfortunately, the 2-year-old pup hadn't quite realized how much harder the jump would be with a toy in her mouth, and her leap didn't quite go to plan.

Pearl's owner, Evalyn Kerr from Santa Monica, California, told Newsweek that "her form in the first jump was hilarious" and she unintentionally ended up diving headfirst into the bed. Thankfully, Pearl was perfectly fine, and she managed to get onto the bed on her second attempt.

Kerr said: "Pearl absolutely loves her toys, and she can't go anywhere without one. She was recently fallen in love with a stuffed fish toy that a friend gave us, but the only problem is that the fish is as big as Pearl.

"So, Pearl tried to bring the fish onto the bed and she fell a little short at first, but she got the fish up there right after," she added.

Kerr couldn't resist sharing the video of the moment with her TikTok followers (@heyevalyn), and they can't get enough of Pearl's grace and poise. The clip has already been viewed more than 13.5 million times and gained over 2.9 million likes in a matter of days.

Alongside the video showing her clumsiness, Kerr joked that "she is beauty, she is grace." There's no doubt about that.

After seeing her dog become a viral TikTok sensation, Kerr said that she has been "telling Pearl that she's famous," but she's hoping it won't go to her head any time soon. The love and support is undoubtedly nice, but all Pearl really cares about is getting her toys onto the bed, regardless of how many attempts it takes.

"Pretty much everyone who commented on the post has been cheering Pearl on," Kerr told Newsweek. "If you have a dog, I think it's pretty relatable to see them make a goofy error like this one and to then keep on moving along."

Pearl has gained plenty of new fans on social media, with the TikTok video gaining more than 14,100 comments in a few days. Many people were quick to laud the Shih Tzu's valiant attempts to hop onto the bed, as one comment reads: "It's the way her entire little body locked up for me."

Another TikTok user wrote: "us before we'd had our coffee."

A third person posted: "glad she brought her own air bag."

Sassy Shih Tzu Totally 'Judging' Owner For Lying Down On Couch

A shih tzu has been filmed giving his owner some "sassy attitude" after finding her relaxing on the couch rather than being at his beck and call.

Pets today have never had it so good, with owners falling over themselves to pamper their four-legged friends. A poll of 2,000 cat and dog owners conducted by OnePoll on behalf of pet retailer Zesty Paws bears this out, with 65 percent of respondents admitting they spoil their four-legged friends on a daily basis.

But setting such high expectations can be exhausting, as the clip of Nadalina Francic of Ontario, Canada, shows. Francic doesn't necessarily spoil her 6-year-old dog, Frankie, but it's clear he's become accustomed to being the center of attention.

So when he recently stumbled upon Francic enjoying a 20-minute nap on the couch, he was far from happy, as a video posted to TikTok under the handle frankietheshiht reveals. In the clip, Frankie can be seen "judging" his owner for lying down, which is something Francic found particularly rich given that he sleeps "18 hours a day."

"I was having a tired moment after a long work day," Francic told Newsweek. "Frankie was not getting attention so clearly he did not want me to sleep but rather give him attention and play with him or he would start to cry and pout in the corner."

But while Frankie might be taking center stage right now, that wasn't always the case.

"Frankie actually came into my life when I had another dog who was sick with cancer and unfortunately on her way out," Francic said. "I thought it was bad timing to get another dog, so I really felt guilty when my mom wanted to get another dog."

Francic could not give Frankie her undivided attention at first, as she was still looking after their other dog, which was dying. But after its death, Frankie was her rock.

"He helped me through the grieving process so much," she said. "He wiggled his way into my heart, and the rest was history. Now I can't imagine my life without Frankie."

Frankie has a wide range of hobbies and interests. "His favorite thing to do is eat," she said. "He also loves short walks where he can sniff around and stop to smell the roses, and he absolutely loves to watch the sunset. We usually watch the sunset together every night in the summertime."

Francic admits that Frankie is prone to "react" when he doesn't get attention, but she doesn't think he's alone in doing that. "I'm sure that's like any dog," she said. "He usually pouts in the corner or cries or tries to get your attention by stealing your shoes or acting out."

But while Francic might appear a little weary of her dog's judgment in these situations, she loves Frankie just the way he is and is looking forward to sharing more clips of him on social media.

"He's a silly little guy, and people on TikTok love his lazy and sassy attitude as much as I do," she said.
