The first dog that Elijah said prospective owners should steer clear from is a Beagle.

He explained that the dogs are very "cheeky" and will have their nose on the ground 24/7 as they are scent-detection dogs and are extremely independent.

The second dog he believes first-timers should stay away from is a German Shorthaired Pointer.

He said: "To be honest, this is just a lot of dogs for a first-time dog owner."

Elijah revealed that the next dog he thinks new owners should avoid is an American Staffordshire Terrier.

The dog trainer explained that these dogs are very big and strong, and can be very dangerous if it is handled by inexperienced owners.

Elijah also warned people away from purchasing a Livestock Guardian Dog such as a Great Pyrenees or a Bernese Mountain Dog, unless they live on a farm.

He said: "If you get a Livestock Guardian Dog and you do not live on a farm, you are clinically insane.
