Winter, a 3-year-old Alaskan husky mix, is looking for her "fur-ever" home and is now available for adoption at St. Hubert's. She's described as a gentle, affectionate dog whose favorite pastime is snuggling on the couch with her friends.

St. Hubert's says Winter walks very nicely on a leash so she would be an ideal walking or hiking partner. She's dog friendly and has enjoyed playing with other dogs in playgroups. 13 Dogs Rescued From Deplorable Conditions In Philadelphia Home

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Animal control authorities in Philadelphia rescued over a dozen dogs found living in deplorable conditions over the weekend.

Officials were called to an abandoned home owned by the Philadelphia Housing Authority on the 2500 block of Cecil B. Moore Avenue on Saturday.

At the scene, officers found 13 dogs. They say 10 of them were husky puppies, roughly seven months old, and two dogs were the husky parents.

Officials also found one pit bull.

It's unclear how long the dogs were left in the home, but Action News was told they were all under-nourished and living in filth.

Sarah Barnett from ACCT Philly says six of the huskies and the pit bull are available for adoption now.

The rest of the huskies will not be up for adoption for a while due to behavioral issues, according to Barnett.

Bret Michaels Shares Update On 'Free Spirit' Rescue Dog Bret Jr.: He's A 'Bit Of An Outlaw'

Bret Michaels is loving life with his rescue dog, Bret Michaels Jr.!

Last month, the rocker — who is currently on his Parti-Gras tour – adopted a 6-year-old Husky named after him that gave a life-saving blood donation to a kitten that was dealing with flea anemia at the Nebraska Humane Society.

Now, Michaels, 60, said in a post shared on Instagram this week that Bret Jr. Is just like him — "a wild free spirit" and "a bit of an outlaw who doesn't listen very well."

Extending a shoutout to all "his friends" at Irondog K9 International Inc., the Poison rocker continued of his canine companion, "He's acclimating, he's healthy and he's such a good dog."

"... There's just not enough words to say how happy I am," Michaels added. "I can't stop smiling. He's going to live an amazing, amazing life."

Last month, the Nebraska Humane Society shared a post on Facebook, in which it detailed the story of Bret Jr.'s lifesaving blood donation to a kitten in need.

In its post, the establishment detailed that the kitten was brought in as a stray alongside two other felines.

Noting that they were "dirty, cold and covered in fleas," the Nebraska Humane Society wrote that they took care of the animals, but noticed one of the cats appeared "a little bit off" and was "wobbly, weak and lethargic."

After diagnosing the kitten with flea anemia, the group found that it needed to do a blood transfer fast, but they couldn't wait for testing to be done to determine a suitable feline donor.

Instead, the organization knew that dog blood could be transfused into felines, and they remembered that the canine Bret Michaels had blood work done just days prior, making him a candidate to donate.

After the first round of transfusion, the kitten started showing signs of improvement, the Nebraska Humane Society said in its Facebook post.

Eventually, the story of Bret Jr. Made its way back to Michaels, and he reached out to the Nebraska Humane Society to adopt the dog named in his likeness.

"I could not have been more touched and more honored to adopt Bret Michaels the husky, knowing that he gave blood to save the life of a kitten," he previously told PEOPLE. "I could not work fast enough to adopt this husky and extend the awesome quality of little Bret Jr.'s life."

Michaels' decision to adopt the hero dog came shortly after he lost his 14-year-old German shepherd Phoenix earlier this year.

"So this story brought a smile back into my family's life," the musician told PEOPLE. "I work diligently with my family and many people to save and improve the lives of many pets."

"We have always donated to incredible pet drives and charities, and will continue to [home] Bret Jr., who ... Has now found a loving family that also includes our two rescue shepherds, Nova and Draco," he added.
